About Us

Tammy Loya’s love of children and photography are a perfect blend for fine heirloom quality portraits. She has the natural ability to capture the spirit of a child, the invisible bond of a family or the beauty of a formal bride in portraiture. Tammy works closely with you to design the portrait you have always envisioned and translates the design into a work of art for your home or office. Tammy has been interviewed and published in several trade publications. Her images are published in The Best of Children’s Photography, The Best of Portrait Photography, and the Photographers Lighting Handbook. She has lectured nationally and internationally on her unique style of children’s photography. The studio moved to Malta NY in 2004. With the move she has expanded her line to include documentary style weddings, high school seniors and monthly specials to benefit Double H Hole in the woods camp. In 2007 Tammy Loya moved her studio to the Chocolate Factory in downtown Ballston Spa, something she has dreamed about doing for years. Out of area assignments are available 518 . 884 . 7400

The parking lot for the studio is located behind the factory eatery, there are two reserved spots.

Design Sessions

Design sessions typically last 45 minutes. At this time Tammy likes to meet with pre school children so she can build a rapport with them. Clothing choices will be discussed along with the style of photography you desire. We suggest you bring any clothing or personal items you are considering for your portrait. You will have an opportunity to view the portraits on display at the studio gallery as well as an AV presentation of Tammy’s work.

Portrait Sessions

Portrait sessions can last up to two hours. The photography sessions are designed to be stress free for everyone involved. For this reason when children are photographed, we schedule the session around the children’s best time of day.

Projection Appointment

Projection appointments can take up to two hours. It’s helpful to have a measurment for the space where your portrait will be displayed. The field will have been narrowed down to the best images from each series. Tammy has the ordering process down to a science; We suggest that you leave the children home as many decisions are made at this stage and children often become bored and restless. Additional projection appointments can be scheduled for a fee of $125.00 per hour.

Delivery of your Images

You can expect a call from us to let you know how your work is progressing. Wall portraits are typically delivered between 8 and 12 weeks after your projection appointment We will call you to schedule your pick up after final inspection by Tammy. All images will be reviewed with the clients before leaving the studio.
